COMCAST AND BLACK EXPERIENCE ON XFINITY CELEBRATE “THE BLACK BEAUTY EFFECT” DOCUSERIES WITH A DINNER AND CANDID CONVERSATION, FEATURING TOP BLACK BEAUTY EXPERTS, IN NEW YORK CITY.

Last night, Comcast and Black Experience on Xfinity commemorated Black History Month, by celebrating the powerful, newly released three-part docuseries The Black Beauty Effect, at Spring Place in New York City. The chic private dinner featured a candid conversation around the evolution of Black beauty, led by some of the biggest influencers, talent, and experts in the beauty industry.

The night kicked off with a cocktail hour, prior to the intimate seated dinner. As guests dined in chic decor, Executive Producer and Founder of FaceForward Productions CJ Faison and Skai Blue Media Founder Rakia Reynolds took the stage for a candid conversation on the evolution of Black Beauty, while showcasing prominent clips from the docuseries. Former Beauty & Cover Director, Essence Magazine Mikki Taylor was asked to share a few words from her seat about her participation in the documentary and gave a moving speech about the evolution of Black beauty and why it is important to continue the conversation and education on the topic.

Notable names in attendance included: Executive Producer and Founder of FaceForward Productions CJ Faison, Vice President, Entertainment Emerging Products & Services at Xfinity Keesha Boyd, Former Beauty & Cover Director, Essence Magazine Mikki Taylor,Emmy-nominated, makeup artist and The Melanin Therapist Marsha Page, Editor-in-Chief, Allure Magazine Jessica Cruel, Founder, Ami Colé Diarrha N'Diaye-Mbaye, Editorial Manager and Milk Makeup’s Editorial Manager Jihan Forbes. Additional notable guests in attendance included: Head of Culture and Community for Instagram Michelle James, Founder of Danessa Myricks Beauty Danessa Myricks and content creators Blake Newby, Kia Marie, and Cedoni Francis.

The Black Beauty Effect is a powerful docuseries created by Actress and Filmmaker Andrea Lewis that captures the current evolution, revolution, and disruption taking place within the beauty industry. Each hour-long episode examines a different aspect of beauty – hair, skin, and makeup – through the lens of some of the beauty industry’s most iconic game-changers. Featuring candid conversations with brand executives, celebrity makeup artists, beauty editors, and more, the docuseries focuses on the impact Influencers have had on the industry’s changing perception of beauty. The three-part docuseries premiered is available now on Black Experience on Xfinity channel, a first-of-its-kind destination of Black entertainment, featuring the ultimate in Black storytelling, and Xumo.
